Two chairs and a chess table in a warm Villa Hesnæs room.

ABOUT US

Villa Hesnæs is located on East Falster and is a family-owned guesthouse with spa and artist residency. It sits slightly tucked away behind the harbour in Hesnæs and peeks out half-hidden, high up on the forest edge, overlooking the Baltic Sea.

The backdrop is tree trunks; in the foreground, shifting sea — grey, blue, foaming white. We claim that you can find a part of what we all need here, but perhaps miss, in the harmony between forest and sea.

BEHIND VILLA HESNÆS IS A FAMILY WITH LOCAL ROOTS

“The large white villa has drawn us in and felt like home ever since childhood and our family’s Sunday walks in the forest. When we, as a family, got the chance to take over and restore this beautiful house, we quickly got to work. The old forester’s residence was to become a place for more. A place filled with guests, conversations and humour. Space and walls imbued with midday calm and tranquillity — a welcome contrast to the unrest of our time.”

So after nearly two years with skilled local craftsmen, reclaimed materials, repairs and plenty of elbow grease, Villa Hesnæs welcomes you inside. Into a house with high ceilings in more ways than one.
